Dana Hammer returned to CU SSPPS as a Senior Instructor and Faculty Lead of Student Professional Development, having been an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at CU early in her career. In between these two appointments she served the University of Washington School of Pharmacy in the capacities of Director of the Teaching Certificate Program in Pharmacy Education, Director of the Bracken Pharmacy Care Learning Center, and Primary Course Master for the Introduction to Pharmacy Practice Skills Course series. Her research is in the areas of assessment of learning outcomes and students’ professional behaviors, and other areas of pharmacy and health professions’ education. She is an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and the Interprofessional Professionalism Collaborative (IPC). Dana also serves on the editorial board of the journal Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy, and frequently reviews manuscripts for the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning. She has authored numerous papers and book chapters and provides faculty development workshops nationally and internationally. Dana has received awards for teaching as well as her research, and most recently was awarded a Fulbright Specialist Scholarship to work with the University of Belgrade Faculty of Pharmacy. She is also a relief pharmacist at an independent pharmacy in her neighborhood, and a Clinical Associate Professor with the University of Washington School of Pharmacy.
