I am the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and am a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and a Professor of Family Medicine. For 10 years, I was the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Vice Chair, and for 25 years the program director for the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency.

As the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, enhancing the school’s clinical enterprise, further developing sustainable clinical service models, and advocating for advancing the practice of pharmacy in the State of Colorado are my primary roles. I am responsible for maintaining clinical partner (e.g., CU Medicine, Family Medicine, University of Colorado Hospital) relationships and oversee international partnerships for clinical advancement, education, and other collaborations.

As a Professor, I am a clinical pharmacist at the University of Colorado Health focusing on cardiovascular risk reduction and population health. I teach cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, with a focus on dyslipidemia and hypertension, and other topics related to primary care. My scholarly work includes over 200 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. I was the lead author for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy 2017 guideline on Clinical Pharmacists Competencies, was a member of the writing group for the 2018 American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology cholesterol management guidelines, and the 2022 National Lipid Association Statin Intolerance Scientific Statement.

I enjoy presenting continuing education on the topics of dyslipidemia and hypertension at local, national, and international pharmacy and medical meetings. As a legal consultant, I work on cases related to medication use, and have been an expert witness on legal cases including civil, criminal, malpractice, and patent claims. I am a Past President of the National Lipid Association (NLA) and am a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health-system Pharmacists, American Pharmacists Association, and the American Heart Association. I was also named a Master of the the NLA.
