Allison Blackmer PharmD, BCPS, BCPPS, FCCP, FASPEN

Dr. Blackmer is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacy. She has over ten years of direct patient care, clinical, teaching and research experience across pediatric acute and post-acute care settings, focusing on optimizing medical care of complex pediatric patients. She previously served as a full time faculty member and clinical pharmacist at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy/Special Care Clinic at Children's Hospital Colorado, a pediatric primary care clinic for ~6000 children with medical complexity, (2014-2021) as well as at the University of Michigan School of Pharmacy/C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital on the pediatric surgery inpatient service (2010-2014). Her passions include pediatric intestinal failure, parenteral and enteral nutrition support, the pharmacotherapy management of children with medical complexity, management of sleep and self-injurious behaviors in children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, and pediatric pharmacotherapy. Dr. Blackmer currently teaches in the PharmD program, with a focus in specialized nutrition support and clinical problem solving skills, and is involved in the PharmD Honors Research Program.

Dr. Blackmer also currently serves as a Manager of Medical Affairs at Nestlé Health Science on the Medical Nutrition team. She has also held positions as the Associate Director of Medical Affairs at Baxter International and as the Director of Clinical Practice, Quality and Advocacy at the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
