Artificial intelligence–enabled tools are rapidly becoming integrated into the medical literature and clinical decision-making landscape. As these technologies continue to evolve, pharmacists play a critical role in assessing the reliability, validity, and appropriate use of AI-generated information before applying it in patient care or professional collaboration. This continuing education program introduces participants to how AI is transforming pharmacy practice and broader healthcare delivery, highlights commonly used AI-enabled tools in clinical settings, and provides hands-on experience using the OpenEvidence platform to ask clinical questions and evaluate evidence-based responses.
Objectives:
- Describe the ways artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the practice of pharmacy and healthcare.
- Display awareness of some common AI-enabled tools already in use in healthcare settings.
- Access the OpenEvidence tool and navigate the website to ask a clinical question and obtain a response.
- Validate the references provided for the answer using a free and available resource, such as PubMed.
