Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency
The Emergency Medicine (EM) post graduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency was established in 2015 with strong emphasis in critical emergency care as well as research and teaching. The primary practice site for the PGY2 in EM is the University of Colorado Hospital (UCHealth). UCHealth is the leading academic medical center in Colorado and shares its physical footprint with the University of Colorado medical campus (Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Physical Therapy and Dental Medicine) as well as the Children’s Hospital of Colorado.
Our program is uniquely designed to keep the EM pharmacy resident in the emergency department for at least 75% of the rotations. Upon completion of the program, our resident will be competent in emergency care pharmacy, teaching to all different disciplines that intersect with the emergency department, and design and complete a research project suitable to begin a career with a strong emphasis in research. The program is incredibly flexible and each year is designed to meet the individual needs of the resident.
Our program partners with the Denver Health Emergency Medicine physician residency to facilitate weekly education through case conferences and didactic education specific to emergency medicine. This weekly meeting preserves a full day for the resident to focus completely on learning and research. We believe that research happens in a longitudinal fashion and thereby longitudinal time is protected for the resident to work on their project. Our site has access to large cohorts of data and statisticians that make our research projects robust. We have adopted the “flipped” model for research and this model combined with the large data cohorts allows the resident to have a full appreciation for the full research process.

Jordan Glasgow, PharmD
Jordan Glasgow was born and raised in Stone Mountain, GA. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia, where he had the opportunity to complete his final two years on the Savannah campus. He continued his clinical pharmacy training at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, GA. Jordan's areas of interest include toxicology, neurologic disorders, and infectious diseases. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys trying new restaurants with his family, playing soccer with his dog, and watching Atlanta sports.Program Director
