Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Ambulatory Care Residency

Program Overview

Our ASHP-accredited ambulatory care PGY2 residency, established in 1995 is an award-winning program. We have trained top pharmacists in Ambulatory Care across the country. The program was honored as the recipient of the 2019 ASHP Residency Excellence Program Award.

The state-of-the-art University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is our home base. This campus, a complete complement of educational and clinical enterprises, is a major integrated academic health sciences center that includes Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Physical Therapy and Dental Medicine. The University of Colorado Health System has ambulatory clinics all across the state of Colorado.

The longitudinal learning experiences are in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Family Medicine Clinic (AF Williams Family Medicine Center), in Academia within the Anschutz Medical Campus, and in Population Health at the University of Colorado Health System. Other required core learning experiences are in geriatrics and primary care; there are several different elective experiences too.

The PGY2 Ambulatory Care program is not funded through UCH pharmacy. Therefore, there is no staffing component to this program.
