Megan A. Rech (pronounced like "wreck") is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Research Health Scientist with the Center of Innovation for Complex Chronic Healthcare at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Medical Center. She also practices as an emergency medicine pharmacist at UCHealth and is an Adjoint Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine in the CU School of Medicine. Dr. Rech received her PharmD from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy and completed residency training at Henry Ford Hospital and Rush University Medical Center/Midwestern University. She earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods from Loyola University Chicago. She is a fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She served as the chair of the Society of Critical Care Medicine Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology section was the inaugural President of the Academy of Emergency Medicine Pharmacists within the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. She has over 160 peer-reviewed publications, with research interests pertaining to pharmacotherapies and medication safety in critically and emergently ill patients. Additionally, she co-founded the Emergency Medicine PHARMacotherapy research NETwork (EMPHARM-NET), the first research network of emergency medicine pharmacist researchers.
