Dr. Fixen is a board certified ambulatory care pharmacy (BCACP) and practices as the clinical pharmacy specialist for UCHealth - Lowry Internal Medicine Clinic. His clinical job responsibilities include:
Maintain and improve clinical services to improve treatment of hypertension, diabetes and hypercholesterolemia through use of collaborative drug therapy management policies utilizing population health strategies
Provide drug-information to patients and multidisciplinary team members, and perform formulary and comprehensive medication reviews as well as assistance with other chronic disease state management; of note, pain management reviews to optimize pain control strategies and increase utilization of risk mitigation strategies
Engage regularly with the fracture liaison service to provide in depth reviews and treatment plans for patients who experience a fragility-related fracture
Serve as primary preceptor for PGY2 residents, aIPPE and APPE students
